Sarah Kudaba – Head Coach
Hello everyone and thank you so much for the warm welcome to the Bluebacks. I am very excited to be a part of the club this summer and looking forward to all the amazing swims, exciting events, and incredible memories that are sure to come. I am joining you in my 11th season as a coach with BCSSA, and come from coaching with many clubs around the province. I have also been sitting on the BCSSA Board of Directors as the Coaches Representitive for the last 3 years. I started my swimming career with the Coquitlam Sharks at the young age of 7, and started with the Hyack Swim Club a few years later. I swam my first year at SFU, where I am studying Kinesiology and Linguistics, and will hopefully be enrolled in the Education Program in Spring 2011. I swam at multiple National championships, and throughout my swimming career learned many skills and life lessons that have helped me form into the person I am today. Swimming within the BCSSA organization has opened up many doors for my family and I, and I will be forever grateful for the doors that it has opened for all of us.
I got into coaching because to stay away from the pool when I ended my career was way too hard. What I realized is that it is exactly where I want to be. I truly believe that as a coach we are coaching the person, we are helping form the young individuals into the amazing people that they will soon become. We are helping them create their own path and lend them a helping hand as they travel down it. Through my passion and love for the sport is where the skill is taught, but seeing each swimmer grow as an individual from season to season is why my alarm is set at 5:30am every morning.
Good luck this season! See you at the pool!
Daisy Huntingtion - Coach
My name is Daisy Huntington and I am thrilled to be back on deck coaching this summer, after taking last summer off. I have been a member of the Boundary Bay Bluebacks for over 15 years now, starting as a 6 & under and working my way through volunteer coaching, to junior coaching, to being assistant head coach in 2008. I am certified with my NCCP Level 1 and am currently studying Human Kinetics at Langara college with hopes to finish my degree at UBC in the near future. I am very passionate about swimming, and sport, and am committed this summer to making sure every member of our club not only falls in love with this wonderful sport, but also makes a ton of friends and memories while doing it! I look forward to seeing familiar and new faces, and for what will no doubt be another exciting swim season!!

Michelle Lowndes – Coach
My name is Michelle Lowndes and it is a great pleasure to be returning to the club this year as a Coach. Some of us are late bloomers… I was definitely one of them. I joined B4 in 2004 after coming back from the Dominican Republic. I knew no one, so my mom decided to sign me up in a sport that summer. I joined and after many moans and “mom it’s too early”, I fell in love with the club. I have now been with the club for five years and look forward to it every summer. This club is a great example of fun and competition; I started off not knowing my strokes to competing last year and doing well I may add. I was terrified on my first day and can still remember how great everyone was to me. I even met some great friends along the way, one becoming my best friend. To this day, we are like band-aids and skin…inseparable. I truly believe that this club has helped greatly in making me who I am today. I am more confident and loved Volunteer coaching in 2007 and Jr. coaching in 2008 to winter of 2009.I am currently studying at Delta Secondary School and completing my grade 10 year. I’ve just completed my lifeguarding courses and looking to spend even more time at the pool! This club is truly my second family and I am so excited to be starting coaching this summer. Get ready for a fun year swimmers!!! I sure am!!
Vanessa Clark – Coach
I've been a part of the Bluebacks swim club for about 12 years and I've loved every minute of it! I will be graduating from South Delta Secondary in June and cannot wait to start this swim season.I am a certified Level 1 NCCP coach and I am also working towards finishing my certifications to become a lifeguard. I have been coaching the Winskill Dolphins Swim Club for the past three years and I was a volunteer coach, and then a junior coach with Bluebacks. I also coached my highschool swim team this year. I'm really looking forward to a successful, fun season with Bluebacks this summer.
Emma Siegmund – Junior Coach
I have been a member of the Boundary Bay Bluebacks Swim Club for ten years and have had a wonderful time both as a competitor and a coach. I have been both a summer and winter session Volunteer Coach with the Bluebacks as well as a Junior Coach for the past three years. I have also held a coaching position with the Southpointe Academy School swim team. I am currently in grade eleven at South Delta Secondary School and have a strong academic interest in child psychology and psychiatry. I look forward to returning to the club this summer as a junior coach and with that, all of the fun and games that are planned. Katreen Kwantes - Junior Coach
