President's Welcome
A big welcome to the 2012 summer swimming season to all new and returning families!!We are all so very excited about what this season will hold for us.
My family has been involved with the Bluebacks for 6 summers now. During that time I have watched my own daughters develop both physically and socially as a result of their experiences with this club. You can’t put a price on watching the change in a child who once refused to swim in any swim meets or participate in any full-team practices (just far too intimidating!!) and who now refuses to miss a single swim meet throughout the summer. There are no words to describe the feeling of watching all the kids “under the big tent” at the meets: giggling, playing cards, “big kids” hanging out with the “little kids”, and the swimmers cheering each other on.
Swimmers: whether you are fiercely competitive with your sights set on a Provincial medal or whether you are a nervous first-timer wondering if you will ever master a flip turn, I challenge you to set your personal goals. There is nothing a coach loves to see more than the excitement and pride on the face of a swimmer who has finally attained that PQT….or who has managed to make an entire 50m of breaststroke without getting DQ’d…or who does a ‘real’ dive for the very first time. Talk to your coach. Let them know what you are hoping to get out of your experience with the Bluebacks this summer. Work hard! Have a load of fun!
Parents: you are also a part of our club. We value your commitment and support, your feedback, and the countless volunteer hours you give us to help make the summer swimming experience a success for all of our children. We have a dynamic and talented coaching staff and a dedicated executive team. If you have questions, please ask. If you have ideas to suggest, talk to us!
Go Bluebacks!!!!
